Porto Cesareo

Porto Cesareo is a Protected Marine Area (established by ministerial decree on 12 December 1997) in the province of Lecce.

Worth visiting is the ‘Pietro Parenzan’ Marine Biology Station, with its room dedicated to the basking shark, and the Coastal Tower of Cesarea, one of the largest in Salento.

By boat, you can reach the nearby Isola dei Conigli and admire archaeological remains from the Roman era, which are of considerable importance.

It is possible to combine a guided tour of Porto Cesareo for a full day’s service with one to the village of Copertino to visit the Castle, the Cathedral and the birthplace of St Joseph of Copertino, protector of students.

Gourmet routes

Our idea is to combine an itinerary of your choice with the possibility of tasting some of the area’s gastronomic excellences through our original Percorsi Golosi and Eno Percorsi.

Traditional Dishes: Porto Cesareo is a seaside town and offers great fresh fish and seafood dishes such as frittura di paranza often accompanied by a Leverano DOC white wine.
